[sarah day-murdock file.FTW] William Jr. served in the Revolutionary War, entering June 5, 1780, for the term of six month s. He marched July 6, 1780; was discharged Dec 16, 1780, and served 5 months, 21 days, wit h travel (220 Miles) included. William and Mehitable were the parents of seven children, all but the last one born in N ew Salem, Ma. The youngest daughter, Sophia, was born in Marietta, Ohio, where the family ar rived in 1789, with Col. Stacy and several other family members. (From the Book "Col.
